HOA Lien
A claim a homeowners or condominium association records for unpaid dues or assessments.
Whether an association lien survives a tax sale depends on state law. Even when past dues are wiped out, the new owner owes dues going forward.
Condominium units at tax sales can carry large association debts and special assessments; ask the association for an estoppel or payoff letter.
