Buyer Default

When a winning bidder fails to complete payment after a tax sale.

Defaults happen when bidders overbid, cannot fund the balance, or find a problem after the sale. The county usually keeps the deposit and may offer the parcel again.

Repeat defaulters can be banned from future sales.
